Tai Chi Chuan

Tai Chi Chuan is a Chinese martial art that combines self-defense with mind/body fitness. Today, Tai Chi is practiced mainly for health purposes, relaxation and stress reduction, but interest in the martial art side of Tai Chi is growing. Noted for its slow and continuous movements, the art is designed to create powerful physical skills while stimulating the body’s energy flow.

Qi Gong

Qi Gong is a system of energetic training which was developed in China. The basis of Qi Gong training is the development of one's intrinsic (internal) energy, and this is accomplished by various simple movements, natural breathing and training of one's intention or mind. The focus of this class will be energy development through natural means, rather than forced or unnatural methods. Gary Carbone is authorized to teach Qi Gong and Yiquan methods through his teacher Dr. Jiousong (James) Kan. This class is suitable for all levels.

Wu Tang Tai Chi Sword

Wu Tang Tai Chi Sword is a rare style that combines the movements of Tai Chi with holding a sword. Deep, expressive postures and traditional training methods come together to create a unique method that benefits mind, body and spirit. Wu Tang Tai Chi Sword has traditionally been described: "Body like a soaring Dragon in the clouds, Sword like lightning or electricity." The Wu Tang Tai Chi Sword style consists of six sections and forty-nine movements. This style was passed down from Master Chen Jun Hao.

All classes are personally taught by Gary Carbone. These arts were learned in the traditional way from a lineage which can be directly traced back at least six generations in China. We are very proud to offer a well-rounded curriculum of Chinese Martial Arts, and we encourage students to partake in all of them. This is known as "complementary training", which means that learning the skills of one art allows one to better learn the skills of another art.
